A false ceiling is really a lighting decision wearing a ceiling's clothes. Done well, it hides wiring and AC ducting, softens the room with cove light, and puts task and accent light exactly where you need it. Done as an afterthought, it eats head height and dates quickly. Common questions
Gypsum or POP — which false ceiling is better?
Gypsum board gives cleaner, straighter lines, installs faster and produces far less mess on site, which is why we use it for most homes. POP allows more curved, custom shapes but is wetter, slower and messier to work with. For a typical flat-ceiling design, gypsum wins on finish and speed.
Will a false ceiling reduce my room height too much?
A peripheral (edge-only) ceiling drops just the border and keeps the centre at full height, which is what we recommend for standard 10-foot rooms. A full false ceiling typically loses about 4–6 inches. We plan around your slab height so the room never feels low.
Can lighting be added later?
It can, but retrofitting means chasing walls and ceilings again. Planning the lighting with the ceiling means the wiring, coves and switch points are all built in once — cheaper and cleaner than coming back.
